| ABOUT THE PROJECT |
The ACBF, based in Harare, Zimbabwe, is the premier capacity-building institution on the African Continent. IPE is a member of Public Management and Administration group, which has been designated as one of four critical areas for capacity-building initiatives by the ACBF. IPE is assisting ACBF in reviewing National Capacity Building Program for Poverty Reduction. This involves a review of policies, strategies, implementation, sources of finance and nature of financing mechanism for effective poverty reduction. |

Reducing poverty through strong government financial management skills, multi-year expenditure programs, and effective expenditure monitoring.

Improvements in statistical capacity are crucial for better poverty and social impact analysis and to facilitate more effective monitoring of countries' progress toward their development goals.
Improvements in the capacity to deliver public services to the population, especially the poor, are crucial to translate both tax revenue and foreign aid into poverty reduction . Indeed, it will also be important in winning increased aid from donors. |
