Dr. Gangadhar Jha

(B.A Eco., and M. A. Eco.; Ph. D. (Eco.) - Urban Public Finance; Local Government Finance, Birmingham)

Dr. Jha has over 30 years experience in state and local government finance, economic development, fiscal analysis and economic review, creating enabling environment in municipal management, training and capacity building and revenue enhancement. His vast experience includes being Team Leader of the ADB funded Basic Social Infrastructure Development Project, Sri Lanka; Training of Local Government Leaders of Bangladesh under the Local Governance Development Fund Project, Bangladesh, UNOPS/UNDP; Team Leader & Local Governance and Decentralisation Specialist for Agra Municipal Reforms Project, JBIC. He has also been Economic Advisor to the Delhi State Finance Commission and developed a framework for fiscal transfers to the local governments in accordance to the 74th CAA. He has worked in countries like India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Nepal, Philippines with CIDA, USAID and UNDP on various urban sector projects.
